As the celebrations for the Britten centenary gather pace for his 100th birthday on November 22 2013, composer Michael Berkeley, who was Britten’s godson, will be making several appearances on the BBC to discuss Britten’s life and music
On Thursday 21 November he appears live on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune at 4.30pm where he will be interviewed by Suzy Klein.
He also discusses Britten’s final years and the extraordinary creativity which led to final opera Death in Venice in the BBC Four documentary Britten’s Endgame which is available to view now on the BBC iPlayer.
Finally, his own programme Private Passions on BBC Radio 3 will feature Britten’s music on Sunday 24 November at 1pm and is trailed with a two-page interview in this week’s edition of the Radio Times.
