Mahan Esfahani‘s recording of CPE Bach’s Württemberg Sonatas has been awarded a Diapason d’Or. Regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in France for classical music recordings, it follows a long list of stunning reviews and accolades, including Gramophone ‘Editor’s Choice’, BBC Music Magazine ‘Recording of the Month’, and The Sunday Times ‘Album of the Week’.
Writing in this month’s Diapason, Philippe Ramin describes Mahan as “technically extraordinary, with a natural feeling for the music and a wonderfully sensitive communicator”, playing with “astonishing ease in this glistening music and with brimming tenderness in the adagios”.
