Congratulations to Mahan Esfahani who has won a BBC Music Magazine Award for his recording of CPE Bach’s Württemberg Sonatas on the Hyperion label. Nominated for the jury award in the Newcomers category, Mahan was presented the prize by eminent harpsichordist Trevor Pinnock at a ceremony held at Kings Place in London. The award follows a long list of accolades over the past year, including numerous Editor’s Choices in prestigious publications and a Gramophone Award for Baroque Recording of the Year 2014.
Mahan recently signed as an exclusive artist with Deutsche Grammophon. His first album for the label - a selection of music ranging from J.S. Bach to Steve Reich - will be released in May 2015.
