Productions involving two Rayfield Allied artists have been nominated for this year's Reumert Award in the category Best Opera Production:
Dead Man Walking at Royal Danish Opera was directed by Orpha Phelan. Critics had praised her "strong and moving staging", which she realised "with great understanding". A full list of reviews is available here. The Irish director already received the award last year, for her production of Powder Her Face, also in Copenhagen.
La cenerentola at Danish National Opera featured Wojtek Gierlach in the role of Alidoro, a role he had previously sang at Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Teatro de la Maestranza in Sevilla, and which Danish critics described as "sung perfectly" and "elegantly handled".
The Reumert Award is Denmark's most prestigious performing arts award. Winners will be announced on 10 June 2017. Click here for the full list of nominations.
