Rayfield Allied is thrilled to announce the representation in Europe and Australasia of Sarod virtuoso Amjad Ali Khan and his sons Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash.
Recognised worldwide as the leading exponent of the Sarod in the late 20th and early 21st century, Amjad Ali Khan has redefined Sarod playing, bringing the instrument and repertoire to new audiences over a career spanning more than six decades. His sons continue his legacy as the seventh generation in the legendary Senia Bangash School.
Their concert commitments take them across the globe and they have played regularly at concert halls including Carnegie Hall in New York, Royal Albert Hall in London, Sydney Opera House Australia and Suntory Hall Tokyo. They are frequent guests at festivals including Edinburgh International Festival, BBC Proms and WOMAD and have been invited to perform by prestigious organisations such as the United Nations and for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Amjad Ali Khan’s Sarod concerto Samaagam has been programmed by orchestras including the London Philharmonic, Gulbenkian Lisbon, Orchestre d’Auvergne and Scottish Chamber Orchestra and will be performed by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in the US during the 2018/19 season.
