After eight sold out performances of Handel's Jephtha at the stunningly opulent Palais Garnier, Katherine Watson's debut with Opéra National de Paris has come to an end and with it a flurry of brilliant reviews.
Singing the role of Iphis alongside a starry cast which included Ian Bostridge and Tim Mead, Katherine's performance has been described as a "remarkable debut" (La Revue du Spectacle), "pure, bell-like and stylish" (The Financial Times), and "delicious and agile" (Res Musica). Classical Voice America also described Katherine as "a soprano of great beauty".
Katherine will return to Paris in March to sing a performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion at the Théâtre des Champs Élysées as part of a European tour with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, details of which can be found here.
