The autumn edition of this year’s Klang Festival takes place in Copenhagen from the 30th October to the 8th November, and contemporary music specialists Pierre-André Valade and Laura Bowler are both due to give concerts in collaboration with Danish ensembles.
On 30th October to the 1st November, Laura Bowler sings five performances of Duncan House, an opera by Rasmus Zwicki, in a private home by Ensemble Lydenskab and Ensemble PlusMinus. Using words written on walls, and lyrics taken from notices from a staircase in Duncan House in London, where the composer resided for a number of years, the work ties art with the everyday and provides a unique experience. Pierre-André Valade is a regular contributor to the festival, and returns this year with close collaborators Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen as their Guest Conductor and former Music Director. On the 7th November, they perform the world premiere of Simon Christensen’s Carved in Stone, Georg Friedrich Haas’s Remix and Kristine Tjøgersen’s Piano Concerto.
