We are very excited to announce that Helen Charlston is joining the BBC R3 New Generation Artists scheme from September 2021.
One of eight young artists chosen to take part in R3's prestigious development programme, Helen appears on BBC R3's In Tune at 18.10 on Thursday 24 June to celebrate the NGA announcement.
The scheme was created in 1999 and supports young musicians at the beginning of their high-level careers, performing with the BBC orchestras and making appearances at renowned venues and festivals, such as the BBC Proms, Cheltenham Festival, Edinburgh International Festival, London’s Wigmore Hall, Ulster Hall, and Snape Maltings.
Other selected musicians include: Konstantin Krimmel (baritone), Kunal Lahiry (collaborative piano), Maria Duenas (violin), Mithras Trio (piano trio), Quatuor Mona (string quartet), Tom Borrow (piano), and William Thomas (bass).
