13 September 2021

We are delighted to welcome tenor Daniel Norman to Rayfield Allied, where he joins the roster for general management.

Praised by the Financial Times as a "multi-talented tenor", Daniel is renowned not only for his vocal and acting artistry, but also for his sophisticated performances within a versatile range of music, from baroque to lieder to contemporary music theatre.

He has built an impressive operatic career both in the UK and internationally. Recent engagements have included Don Basilio/Don Curzio Le Nozze di Figaro for Opera Holland Park; Orpheus the Myth in a new production of Birtwistle's The Mask of Orpheus and Monostatos The Magic Flute for English National Opera; and his role debut as Captain Vere Billy Budd for Central City Opera, Colorado. He appears regularly in contemporary opera and music theatre and is particularly noted for his performances of the music of Benjamin Britten. Current engagements include Sellem The Rake's Progress for Glyndebourne.

Also active on the concert platform, Daniel appears regularly with prestigious orchestras and conductors, and at festivals and in recital worldwide. Enjoying a close relationship with Oxford Lieder Festival, his animated performance of Schubert's Erlkönig has received millions of views on youtube.

His wide-ranging discography includes several solo discs with pianist Christopher Gould for BIS and Stone Records, along with a Grammy-nominated Beethoven 9 with the Minnesota Orchestra, and four volumes of the Hyperion Schubert Edition with Graham Johnson.

Daniel also has his own film production company Positive Note, which has partnered - among others - with the Oxford Lieder Festival and the Oxford Bach Soloists, producing innovative projects of both live concert films, animation, and home-recorded isolation performances.

Daniel Norman will be managed worldwide by Polly Gamble and Ben Rayfield.
