On the 19th August 2021, Sergio Tiempo makes a much-awaited return to the Hollywood Bowl and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, to perform Beethoven’s Triple Concerto under close collaborator Gustavo Dudamel, with violinist Maria Duenas and cellist Robert de Maine. He previously performed the iconic work with Jan Vogler and Kevin Zhu at the Berlin Konzerthaus on 13th August 2021, as part of the Moritzburg Festival.
Previously described as "one of the best pianists alive", Sergio Tiempo is a regular guest at the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and has previously played concertos by Tchaikovsky, Chopin and Ginastera with the orchestra. In 2019 he gave the world premiere of Esteban Benzecry’s new piano concerto ‘Universos Infinitos’, a work that was dedicated to Tiempo himself by the composer. Tiempo gave multiple performances at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and also at the David Geffen Hall of New York’s Lincoln Center with Gustavo Dudamel and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and was reviewed as "a scintillating and virtuosic performance", with "absolute commitment and an extraordinary range of touch". Clips of the premiere performance are available to view here and here.
