Laura Bowler's new opera ‘The Blue Woman’ opens at the Royal Opera House's Linbury Theatre on July 6. The work explores the psychological aftermath of sexual violence experienced by women, and reframes the role of such violence in traditional operas. Directed by Katie Mitchell to a libretto by Laura Lomas it also features an all female cast and ensemble.
Co-commissioned by Britten Pears Arts it receives further performances at Snape Maltings in September.
