Warmest congratulations to tenor Liam Bonthrone, who this week was awarded the Clonter Opera Prize, representing the Royal Academy of Music.
He impressed the judging panel with performances of E’ un folle (Alcina), O Blonde Cérès (Les Troyens), and Allegro io son (Rita).
This spring he sings Don Curzio for Verbier Festival in Ibiza. Later this season he makes his role debut as Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia for Nevill Holt Opera and takes part in the 2022 Internationale Meistersinger Akademie, directed by Edith Wiens.
