This week, Mahan Esfahani returns to Cologne to begin his Artist in Residence for the 22/23 season at the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln.
Over the season, he gives seven performances with the orchestra across three different programmes. The first, entitled ‘Lust for Life’ and performed on the 11th, 12th and 13th September at the Cologne Philharmonie, will include the world premiere of Miroslav Srnka’s new work Standstill for harpsichord and orchestra, conducted by François-Xavier Roth. Later in the season, he performs Martinu’s harpsichord concerto with the orchestra, and also gives a concert of chamber works.
