On Saturday May 13, soprano Dorothea Herbert will be performing title role in Dvořák's Rusalka at Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe which is also a brand new production by director Katharina Thoma.
With his "lyrical fairy tale" Antonín Dvořák created a profound music drama, under whose fairytale surface the whole spectrum of human emotions unfolds. Complex and layered characters populate this allegory between appearance and reality, unconditional love and bitter disappointment. Dorothea's perfromance will of course inculde Rusalka's Song to the Moon which is at the top of every opera fan's wish list!
