Steve Reich's newest work Jacob's Ladder receives it's world premiere in October 2023. Written for large ensemble and singers the piece is inspired by Biblical texts and lasts approximately 20 minutes.
The first performances will be given at the Lincoln Center by the New York Philharmonic with Synergy Voices, conducted by Music Director Jaap van Zweden from Oct 5 - 7 2023.
Other commissioners include Fundação Casa da Música (Portugal), O/Modernt (Sweden), Istanbul Music Festival and Borusan Philharmonic (Turkey), BBC (United Kingdom) and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (Canada) and Jacob's Ladder will receive it's European premiere in February 2024 at Radio France's Festival Presence within the context of major week long retrospective of his music.
