Brett Polegato has been awarded in this year's Opera Canada Rubies.
The Rubies, awarded annually by Opera Canada, are among the country’s highest honours for opera artists, recognizing both long-term achievement and innovation in the art form.
The award places Brett in the company of several Canadians who have made a significant impact to opera-making around the world including Robert Carsen, Robert Lepage, Gerald Finley, Sondra Radvanovsky, Barbara Hannigan, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
This year’s ceremony is set for November 18th at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, home of the Canadian Opera Company.
