Barrie Kosky's landmark 2021 production of The Threepenny Opera will make its US premiere at Brooklyn Academy of Music with a limited run opening on the 3rd April. This is, as per The New York Times, one of the first opportunities for New York audiences to sink into Barrie Kosky's extraordinary work, which is so widely performed in Europe.
"Kosky, more than most directors, is sensitive to [Threepenny's] polyphonic structure in his staging, which moves around, repeats and trims material throughout to make the show move briskly and with a light hand, allowing the subtext its slithering grace."
